Whickham School, Gateshead
Construction of new sports pitches and changing facilities at Whickham School
- The former school playground was the proposed location of the new all weather sports pitches and changing/office building
- The ground is reduced by over 300mm ready to receive a new sub-base and land drains for the pitches

- One of the four completed unisex changing and shower rooms. The building also has an office & reception, referee changing rooms, storage areas and a viewing area for spectators
- The completed building is used by school pupils during the day and is available for the general public to hire out in evenings. The project was joint funded by Sports England, Lottery funding and Gateshead Council
- The all weather astro-turf full size hockey pitch and three 5-a-side pitches have rebound mesh sports fences, floodlights and sewn in pitch lines marked out ready for various different sports uses
